Soccer Safe Return to Play – COVID Safety Measures
is at the following stage: Code Red: Return to Play Stage 2. There are extra precautions that are necessary
for our season to run, including:
- Limit of one accompanying
parent/guardian or other adult for each player.
- Each child will need to have their own hand sanitizer (labelled), as
well as their own water bottle (labelled) at each game.
- No team snack breaks or staying at the field once your game time is
over. Players will have ten minutes after the game to leave the field and
subsequent game players can then enter the field no earlier than 10 minutes
before their game time.
- Masks strongly recommended to be worn by all coaches, parents and players who are six and
over (children five and under are encouraged to wear masks if they are
- Game equipment will need to be wiped down and sanitized before and after
- Drills and activities before games will encourage physical distancing.
Players sitting on the side lines during game time will have to have distance
- No players are allowed to touch the
game ball with their hands (no throw ins) or heads. For U7 and U8, goalies must
have their own gloves to play goalie.
These precautions may be changed and/or
removed depending on what level we are at on Manitoba’s Pandemic Response Level
System when the season begins.
Friend requests for
children in the same year will be considered but not guaranteed. This year, we
are allowing additional friend requests to try to keep already determined
bubbles (ex. school, daycare) together; however, if you are making a large
number of requests for your child please know that this will only be possible
if there is a volunteer coach from that request group.
There will be no
soccer extravaganza in 2021 due to COVID.
